Lead AI Developer Tooling Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote (US)

Base salary: $150,000–$300,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Architect, build, and optimize developer-facing tools and services.
• Design IDE integrations, CLIs, code-analysis tools, and CI/CD workflows.
• Expose AI capabilities through fast, understandable, debuggable, and controllable developer workflows.
• Optimize availability, latency, efficiency, and reliability across developer tooling.
• Drive engineering best practices through code reviews, documentation, and automation frameworks.
• Coach and mentor junior engineers on software craftsmanship.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a related technical or analytical discipline, plus 7+ years of relevant software development experience; alternatively, a relevant master's degree with 5+ years of experience.
• Experience building IDE, CLI, code-analysis, CI/CD, or developer-experience tools.
• Working knowledge of local and remote execution, telemetry, privacy, and enterprise deployment constraints.
• Strong experience with language servers, parsers, build systems, source control, and diagnostics.
• Experience using AI coding assistants and evaluating, coaching others on, and selectively applying AI-generated code in production.
• Experience developing, optimizing, and maintaining high-volume, mission-critical production services, with strong technical communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience developing and operating services on public cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with enterprise platforms such as Salesforce or ServiceNow.
