Specialist, Direct Procurement – Interior Commodity (Automotive)

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, or Novi, Michigan, United States. Requires 4–5 days per week in the office, regular in-person meetings and occasional business travel.

Salary: $90,000–$112,500 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Identify and evaluate suppliers for automotive interior parts and services, including pre-sourcing audits.
• Develop commodity sourcing strategies and business plans, lead sourcing through contract award, and achieve material cost and tooling targets.
• Present sourcing strategies to multi-level sourcing committees and negotiate contracts and nomination agreements.
• Manage supplier industrialization during pre-production, ensuring project timing, cost, quality, and delivery requirements.
• Evaluate technical changes and lead cross-functional supplier readiness assessments with Quality, Engineering, and Logistics.
• Manage supplier relationships and performance metrics while supporting design changes, cost negotiations, and tooling negotiations.

Requirements

• 4+ years of purchasing experience developing and executing procurement commodity strategies.
• Automotive negotiation experience, specifically in interior commodity purchasing.
• Knowledge of automotive, manufacturing, or related industries, with experience managing supplier performance and programs.
• Strong analytical, communication, prioritization, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently across multiple workstreams.
• Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and supplier partners in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Ability to work in the Charlotte or Novi office 4–5 days per week and travel for company events when required.

Nice to have

• Experience with automotive interior parts and production processes such as plastic injection, compression molding, and wrapping.
• Expertise in interior plastics including PP, PC, PC-ABS, PE, TPO, and GF.
• Knowledge of decorative materials such as fabrics, PVC, PU, and leather.
