Director, Product Builder (Payments)

Location: Foster City, California, United States. Hybrid schedule with at least 3 days in the office; travel required 5–10% of the time.

Salary: $203,800–$326,100 USD per year, with potential bonus, equity, and sales incentive payments where applicable.

What you will do

• Define product strategy, vision statements, and product goals for technology products in the payments ecosystem.
• Lead customer discovery, product design, market research, and competitive analysis to develop new products.
• Manage product lifecycles from ideation and launch through post-launch optimization.
• Collaborate with engineering, design, and cross-functional teams to deliver agile technology solutions.
• Drive consensus, forecast business trends, and structure complex projects across a global matrixed organization.
• Recruit, grow, retain, and lead high-caliber technical talent.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of work experience with a bachelor's degree, 8 years with an advanced degree, or 3 years with a PhD.
• Experience in product strategy, product execution, product design, customer discovery, and product goal planning.
• Senior product management experience in digital products, payments, and financial services.
• Experience working with Agile frameworks, matrixed organizations, and global cross-functional teams.
• Experience launching and managing digital products for issuers, including large card portfolios and issuing institutions.
• Strong commercial, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and technical leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with core banking best practices and process management.
• Experience leading deal negotiations, managing third-party vendors, and driving UX and UI transformation.
• Experience managing diverse teams with positive performance records.
