TL;DR
Systems Engineer (Nuclear Energy): Developing and integrating advanced nuclear energy systems, including requirements, functional and physical architectures, interfaces, and verification strategies with an accent on multidisciplinary systems engineering and regulatory compliance. Focus on tracing technical requirements, coordinating system integration reviews, assessing change impacts, and managing technical risks across complex product and plant architectures.

Location: Alameda, California; Albuquerque, New Mexico; or remote within the United States. The role may involve periodic work in laboratory, manufacturing, industrial, test-facility, or controlled environments, some travel, and occasional schedule flexibility for project milestones.

Salary: $122,270–$143,847 annually for employees working onsite at the Alameda, California headquarters.

  • Experience coordinating technical reviews or leading focused cross-functional engineering activities.
  • Strong technical writing, communication, presentation, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Access to controlled facility information requires Department of Energy authorization under 10 CFR Part 810; applicable foreign-national licensing restrictions may apply.

Nice to have

  • Experience in nuclear energy, power generation, aerospace, defense, energy, or another highly regulated industry.
  • Experience with Jama Connect, model-based systems engineering, configuration management, design reviews, trade studies, or technical baseline management.
  • Familiarity with nuclear quality, licensing, safety, regulatory practices, ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288, or the INCOSE Systems Engineering Handbook.

Culture & Benefits

  • Full-time employees have access to medical, dental, and vision coverage for themselves and dependents.
  • Paid vacation and competitive compensation are provided.
  • Benefits include 401(k), pre-tax health insurance, dependent care, and commuter benefits through an FSA.
