Senior Digital Signal Processing Systems Engineer

Location: Onsite in Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States. Applicants must obtain and maintain a US government security clearance.

Salary: $82,300–$220,000 base salary per year.

What you will do

• Design RF, communications, waveforms, and digital signal processing algorithms for complex mission applications.
• Analyze and model radio frequency and communications systems, algorithms, link budgets, and technical risks.
• Develop prototypes and support software or firmware coding, system integration, field tests, customer demonstrations, and RF measurements.
• Use laboratory instrumentation and software tools to validate, troubleshoot, and improve system designs.
• Contribute to requirements development, customer presentations, proposals, and business development activities.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration, mentor less experienced teammates, and drive solutions with limited direction.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
• 5–10 years of experience in radio frequency, communications engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with DSP algorithm design, including filtering, channel equalization, detection and estimation, and multirate signal processing.
• Knowledge of RF systems, communications architectures, electrical engineering fundamentals, and wireless technologies such as 4G/5G, MIMO, and OFDM.
• Experience with RF measurement instrumentation, embedded software for FPGAs or GPUs, software-defined radios, and DSP implementation in FPGA, GPU, or C.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, organization, prioritization, and collaborative leadership skills.

Nice to have

• DSP-focused master’s thesis or advanced degree.
• Very strong experience using Matlab or Python for DSP signal analysis.
• Experience with FIR filter design, adaptive filtering, LMS, maximum likelihood and MMSE estimators, Neyman–Pearson detectors, and ROC curves.
