Security Architect (Cloud)

Location: Newton, Massachusetts, USA; in-person work required three days a week or more, with flexibility to work from home or remotely at other times

Salary: $175,000–$200,000 per year, based on experience

What you will do

• Own and evolve enterprise security architecture, roadmaps, reference architectures, principles, standards, and governance frameworks.
• Design cloud and infrastructure security across AWS, GCP, hybrid, and on-premises environments, including IAM, Zero Trust, network segmentation, CSPM, CIEM, SIEM, and threat detection.
• Lead Secure SDLC and DevSecOps initiatives, integrating security controls into CI/CD pipelines and guiding secure application design.
• Conduct threat modeling, risk analyses, security audits, assessments, and remediation planning.
• Lead security architecture for emerging AI and LLM initiatives and advise leaders on technology risks and security strategy.
• Drive incident response, security policies, documentation, architecture diagrams, control matrices, and security metrics.

Requirements

• 7+ years of cybersecurity experience with deep cloud security expertise and experience leading enterprise security architecture in multi-cloud environments.
• Strong expertise in AWS and GCP security, IAM, least privilege, Zero Trust, VPC design, perimeter controls, encryption, key management, data exfiltration prevention, logging, and automated threat detection.
• Experience with web application security testing, network vulnerability scanning, container and Kubernetes security, and industry-standard security testing and auditing tools.
• Expert understanding of cybersecurity, Unix operating systems, and frameworks including NIST, COBIT, ISO 27001, and SOC 2.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• Ability to lead security discussions with system architects and business leaders; CISSP, CCSP, AWS Security Specialty, or Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer certification is expected.
