Operations Supervisor I (Chemical Manufacturing)

Location: Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States; on-site work in a chemical manufacturing facility.

What you will do

• Develop and manage daily production schedules while balancing customer demand, inventory, staffing, equipment availability, and plant capacity.
• Monitor production performance, adjust priorities, and communicate updates across production, maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams.
• Lead shift communications and coordinate operators on the production floor, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operations.
• Troubleshoot equipment and process issues, coordinate maintenance, minimize downtime, and maintain staffing coverage.
• Support audits, investigations, quality issue resolution, regulatory compliance, and accurate production documentation.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support employee training, development, and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• 4–6 years of proven operations experience.
• Knowledge of chemical distribution facility operations preferred.
• SAP or comparable ERP system experience required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
