HR Generalist (AI)

Location: Fully remote; work from anywhere in the world within a ±1 CET time frame. The role is listed for Spain, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Mauritius, Portugal, and Slovakia. Offices are available in Milan and Bologna; weekly in-person collaboration is expected at the Port Louis office for employees based in Mauritius.

What you will do

• Manage the employee lifecycle from pre-onboarding and day-one readiness through offboarding and exit conversations.
• Coordinate payroll, compliance, employee records, benefits, and employment documentation across multiple jurisdictions.
• Improve HR workflows by identifying repetitive work and proposing AI-enabled automations.
• Run engagement surveys, stay interviews, and pulse checks, translating results into recommendations for the Chief People Officer.
• Support salary-grid maintenance, promotion cycles, dismissal processes, employer branding, candidate experience surveys, and internal communications.
• Act as a first point of contact for employees and managers and contribute to HR projects, offsites, and internal events.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of HR experience, including generalist operations and people partnering.
• Experience working across multiple countries and navigating different labor frameworks, cultures, and employment practices.
• Experience with payroll coordination, compliance tracking, employee lifecycle administration, benefits, and HR data quality.
• Active day-to-day use of AI tools for drafting, research, automation, or data analysis.
• Experience in a technology product company, preferably a scale-up or mid-size company, with exposure to product and engineering environments.
• Hands-on experience with HRIS, ATS, workspace, and project-management tools such as HiBob, Teamtailor, Confluence, OneDrive, Asana, or Jira. Full professional English proficiency is required; Italian is a strong plus.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Italian, Spanish, or Mauritian labor law.
• Experience creating an HR backlog or people operations roadmap.
• Experience improving data quality in HRIS platforms.
