Staff Software Engineer (Frontend)

Location: New York, NY; hybrid setup with an expectation of 4 days in the office at the NYC HQ

Salary: $225,000–$250,000 annually, plus bonus and equity

What you will do

• Own major customer-facing product experiences from technical design and frontend architecture through implementation, testing, measurement, and iteration.
• Build and evolve the web application using TypeScript, React, Shadcn/MUI, and Node.js, focusing on usability, performance, reliability, security, and maintainability.
• Set technical direction for frontend architecture, engineering patterns, development practices, observability, testing, and developer experience.
• Solve complex product and technical problems across the stack with product, design, data, backend, operations, revenue, and customer-facing teams.
• Contribute to product roadmap and technical strategy, including APIs, data platforms, infrastructure, and production application quality.
• Mentor engineers through pair programming, code reviews, architecture discussions, and hands-on technical leadership.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience building complex software applications and modern web applications.
• Deep experience with TypeScript and React, frontend architecture, state management, API integration, testing, accessibility, and performance.
• Experience with component libraries or design systems such as Shadcn or MUI.
• Experience deploying production applications and services on AWS or GCP, plus familiarity with infrastructure as code, preferably Pulumi.
• Ability to work across APIs, databases, data pipelines, infrastructure, network security, and production systems.
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with experience communicating technical decisions and mentoring engineers.

Nice to have

• Experience with data-intensive applications and moving, ingesting, or transforming data at scale.
• Familiarity with Python, Django, MySQL, Postgres, Dagster, or Snowflake.
