TL;DR
Lead .NET Architect (AI Integration): Designing the modernization of legacy .NET enterprise systems into scalable, cloud-native architectures with an accent on microservices, event-driven design, and AI/LLM orchestration. Focus on leading Strangler Fig migrations, reverse-engineering undocumented business logic, integrating RAG pipelines and vector databases, and ensuring zero-downtime business continuity.
Location: Budapest, Debrecen, Pécs, or Szeged, Hungary. Remote work is available only within Hungary due to European taxation regulations.

What you will do
- Define the long-term architecture roadmap from legacy monolithic systems to microservices, event-driven, and cloud-native architectures.
- Lead technical analysis of legacy .NET systems, extract undocumented business logic, and transform it into clean, testable code.
- Design AI and LLM integration patterns, including agentic workflows, API-driven orchestration, RAG pipelines, and vector database integration.
- Govern architectural decisions, technology choices, coding standards, and technical debt priorities.
- Lead risk-mitigated Strangler Fig modernization initiatives while maintaining zero downtime and business continuity.
- Mentor senior and mid-level developers through technical guidance and deep-dive code reviews.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years as a Lead Architect or Principal Engineer.
- Expert knowledge of .NET, C#, .NET Core/6/8+, ASP.NET, and legacy .NET Framework internals.
- Proven experience migrating or modernizing large-scale, complex legacy systems.
- Experience using AI tools such as GitHub Copilot and LLMs for code analysis, refactoring, and architectural prototyping.
- Ability to defend architectural decisions with stakeholders and guide highly experienced engineers.
- Must be based in Hungary for remote work.
