Senior Product Designer (Genomics)

Location: London, United Kingdom, with office locations in Cambridge and Leeds. Hybrid blended working model with a minimum expectation of attending the office twice each month, depending on the role and team.

What you will do

• Lead the end-to-end design of genomic healthcare and research products from discovery through launch and ongoing iteration.
• Design intuitive interactions and product experiences for complex data, balancing usability, feasibility, viability, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, researchers, content designers, and subject matter experts in cross-functional product squads.
• Translate qualitative and quantitative research into product visions, roadmaps, wireframes, prototypes, and delivery decisions.
• Champion accessible experiences and apply NHS design systems, design standards, and best practices.
• Facilitate co-creation and decision-making with users, internal teams, and external stakeholders while contributing patterns and practices to the wider design community.

Requirements

• Substantial experience as a Senior Product Designer with examples of live product delivery.
• Experience working in cross-functional product squads and applying end-to-end product design processes.
• Ability to interpret user research and create wireframes and prototypes using advanced Figma and Miro skills.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 accessibility guidelines and experience collaborating with engineers on implementation.
• Experience with NHS design systems and regulatory best practice is desirable; awareness of ethical, compliance, and regulatory considerations for sensitive data is valuable.
• Strong storytelling, organisation, collaboration, prioritisation, and stakeholder-influencing skills.

Nice to have

• Experience working under the Government Digital Service Standard.
• Front-end engineering experience and an understanding of technical feasibility and architectural constraints.
• Experience creating reusable patterns, supporting product strategy, and designing scalable and sustainable solutions.
• Experience working in highly regulated, risk-sensitive environments.
