Loan Officer Assistant (SAFE Act)

What you will do

• Support the loan officer with referral sources, prospects, customers, and sales or marketing programs.
• Guide customers through the mortgage application process, collect accurate supporting documentation, and follow up on outstanding loan conditions.
• Coordinate with processors, underwriters, closers, and other production personnel to complete files and meet closing timelines.
• Serve as the communication liaison between customers, the bank, and the loan officer through phone and written correspondence.
• Maintain loan documents, enter application data into processing systems, prepare reports, and support operational controls.
• Maintain registration requirements under the federal SAFE Act and comply with internal and regulatory standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma, equivalent qualification, or equivalent work experience.
• Knowledge of secondary marketing requirements, FHA/VA regulations, and bank products and services.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel within the region and work overtime or a flexible schedule as needed.
• Compliance with federal SAFE Act registration requirements.

Nice to have

• Prior mortgage experience.
• Knowledge of departmental software.
