Claim Specialist - Property Field Inspection

Location: Tyler, Texas, United States. Remote-field work from home combined with in-person property inspections within the assigned ZIP codes; occasional travel to other territories may be required.

Salary: $63,089.65–$90,000 annually, plus potential incentive pay of up to 15% of base salary.

What you will do

• Conduct on-site inspections and assessments of residential and commercial property damage.
• Investigate and adjust personal and commercial property claims with exposures up to $500,000.
• Evaluate coverage, policy terms, regulations, and supporting evidence to determine claim validity.
• Document findings, prepare detailed reports, and use mobile and desktop tools to support claims handling.
• Collaborate with policyholders, agents, and other parties while addressing difficult or emotional conversations.
• Negotiate and settle claims within authorized limits and provide customer service throughout the claims process.

Requirements

• Must reside within the assigned Tyler-area ZIP codes and be able to perform field inspections.
• Ability to investigate problems, evaluate information, interpret detailed policies, and make well-supported decisions.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and customer-service skills.
• Physical ability to walk, bend, kneel, lift, carry, climb ladders, traverse roofs at different heights and pitches, and crawl in confined spaces.
• Valid driver's license required; rope and harness safety training may be required.
• Successful completion of required training, licensing exams, motor vehicle record checks, background checks, and pre-employment assessments.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in risk management, insurance, business, construction management, or a related field.
• Customer service experience and knowledge of property insurance and claim handling.
• Knowledge of residential and commercial construction, building materials, water mitigation, and inspection processes.
• Working knowledge of Xactimate and XactContents.
