Field Claims Representative (Insurance)

Location: Montgomery, Alabama, with responsibility for the Dothan area. Hybrid work may be available after initial in-person training, based on job responsibilities and leadership approval. Field and on-site investigations are required.

What you will do

• Investigate claims, assemble facts, determine policy coverage, evaluate losses, and analyze legal liability.
• Handle multiline property and casualty claims in an assigned territory, with an emphasis on property claims.
• Review insurance policies, endorsements, and forms to determine applicable coverage.
• Resolve claims accurately and on time, including issuing claim payments.
• Conduct investigations by phone, mail, and on site.
• Attend arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent direct experience handling property and casualty claims.
• At least three years of experience handling multiline property and casualty claims, preferably with a property focus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to resolve complex issues.
• Ability to organize and interpret data, manage multiple assignments, and work effectively with diverse individuals.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations involving geometry, financial documents, sums, and unit costs.
• Valid driver’s license, ability to drive an automobile, and a driving record meeting company underwriting guidelines; ability to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

• Field claims handling experience.
• Knowledge of Xactimate software.
