Mobile Building Engineer (HVAC)

Location: Charlotte, NC, United States; onsite at portfolio properties with regular travel between sites.

What you will do

• Perform maintenance and repairs across multiple properties, including plumbing, basic electrical work, and HVAC troubleshooting.
• Conduct lighting, roof, parking lot, and building equipment inspections and maintain inspection records.
• Respond to unscheduled maintenance calls, tenant comfort requests, severe weather, equipment failures, and power outages through on-call rotations.
• Monitor service contractors and report equipment abnormalities and safety hazards to supervisors.
• Develop advanced proficiency with HVAC troubleshooting, energy management systems, and BAS operation across multiple properties.
• Mentor junior mobile technicians and collaborate with engineers to maintain consistent service delivery.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of job-related experience or equivalent certification or trade experience.
• Valid state driver’s license and engineering or trade licenses required by applicable local, state, or national regulations.
• Experience developing proficiency in HVAC troubleshooting, energy management systems, and BAS operation.
• Basic ability to use Microsoft Office Outlook, laptops, phones, work order systems, email, and training platforms.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform stooping, crouching, and kneeling; regular travel between properties is required.
• Must already be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
