What you will do

  • Lead the architecture and development of electron optical subsystems for inspection, review, and metrology products.
  • Define subsystem requirements, performance budgets, interfaces, technology roadmaps, and design reviews.
  • Design and optimize electron sources, lenses, aberration correction, beam transport, detectors, deflection systems, and vacuum subsystems.
  • Perform charged-particle simulations, aberration analysis, detector signal modeling, noise and SNR prediction, tolerance analysis, and calibration strategy development using MEBS, SIMION, Python, and custom frameworks.
  • Plan and lead experimental validation, performance characterization, simulation correlation, calibration, alignment, and root-cause investigations.
  • Support product qualification, manufacturing transition, issue resolution, and design-for-excellence improvements in collaboration with manufacturing, service, systems, software, and suppliers.

Requirements

  • PhD in Physics, Applied Physics, Electron Optics, Electrical or Electromagnetics Engineering, Optical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience in electron optics, charged-particle systems, semiconductor equipment, microscopy, or related fields.
  • Strong expertise in several areas including electron sources, electron optics simulation, charged-particle optics, detector physics, high-voltage systems, vacuum systems, calibration methodologies, advanced SEM architecture, or aberration analysis and correction.
  • Technical leadership experience in subsystem design, analysis, validation, and optimization.
