Senior Financial Systems Architect - Workday

Location: Remote within Germany, with Berlin as the primary office location.

What you will do

• Own the Workday Financials tenant technically across general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking and settlement, security, and the financial data model.
• Take over the tenant from the implementation partner, document and harden the delivered configuration, and bring operational responsibility in-house after go-live.
• Design and build the Workday side of integrations using EIBs, Core Connectors, Studio, web services, and RaaS reports.
• Advise Finance and Accounting on system design, process ownership, Workday capabilities, and end-to-end business processes.
• Run Workday as a production system through Tier 2/3 support, root-cause fixes, testing, releases, change management, and documentation.
• Build reports, dashboards, calculated fields, and future solutions covering HCM, treasury, VAT reporting, and global payroll.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of hands-on Workday Financials experience, including a full implementation and post-go-live tenant ownership.
• Strong configuration experience with GL, AP, AR, Banking & Settlement, business processes, configurable security, FDM, and worktags.
• Experience with custom and matrix reports, calculated fields, and BIRT.
• Knowledge of SaaS integrations, APIs, integration patterns, accounting processes, period close, reconciliations, and audit requirements.
• Engineering-oriented approach to troubleshooting, testing, documentation, and system operations.
• Excellent English required for precise communication with engineers and clear communication with Finance colleagues.

Nice to have

• Experience with EIBs, Core Connectors, Studio, web services, RaaS, and XSLT.
• German proficiency and Workday Pro certification in Financials or Integrations.
• Multi-entity, multi-currency, multi-GAAP, tax, or e-invoicing experience.
• Experience with Accounting Center, Prism Analytics, Extend, Orchestrate, Workday consulting, or a Workday CoE.
• Formal accounting qualifications or experience with internal controls and SOX.
