Head of Business Systems (AI)

Location: San Mateo, United States; hybrid

Salary: $220,000–$240,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Define the company-wide business systems strategy, architecture, governance standards, and multi-year roadmap.
• Own enterprise applications including finance, CRM, contracts, procurement, billing, integrations, automation platforms, and AI tooling.
• Redesign cross-functional workflows and automate manual processes using APIs, workflow platforms, AI assistants, copilots, and agentic solutions.
• Establish systems of record, data ownership, integration standards, and secure AI access to enterprise data and APIs.
• Lead major transformation programs such as CRM modernization, quote-to-cash, procure-to-pay, financial systems modernization, and AI-enabled workflow transformation.
• Build and lead a Business Systems organization spanning platform owners, analysts, developers, architects, and program managers.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in Business Systems, Enterprise Applications, IT, Business Technology, or related functions.
• 5+ years of experience leading teams in rapidly growing or complex enterprise environments.
• Experience owning large-scale enterprise application portfolios and transformation initiatives, including platforms such as Salesforce, NetSuite, Oracle, or billing systems.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture, integrations, APIs, workflow automation, identity, data governance, SaaS operating models, and change management.
• Experience evaluating and integrating AI tools into enterprise applications, including governance for data access, permissions, security, human-in-the-loop controls, and AI agents.
• Experience managing systems integrators, consultants, software vendors, significant technology budgets, and cross-functional executive stakeholders.

• Experience supporting public companies or SOX-regulated environments.
• Experience with enterprise AI platforms, AI assistants, agentic workflows, AI orchestration, modern data platforms, or AI-enabled workflow automation.
• Experience supporting international operations, M&A integration, or multi-entity environments.
