Maintenance Technician A

Location: Hamilton, Ontario, Canada; onsite maintenance and road service duties

Salary: CAD 25.30–34.82 per hour

What you will do

• Repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel equipment, vehicles, and trucks.
• Diagnose faults using electronic diagnostic tools and repair engines, chassis, suspension, drivetrain, steering, heating, and cooling systems.
• Service electrical, hydraulic, control, and braking systems, including fuse replacement.
• Perform preventive maintenance such as oil changes, fluid checks, tire rotation, inspections, and checklist-based examinations.
• Provide road service and test-drive vehicles to confirm safe and reliable operation.
• Plan repair procedures using technical charts and manuals, including line maintenance welding and fabrication.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in a technician position diagnosing and repairing gasoline- and diesel-powered equipment.
• Knowledge of maintenance processes, tools, vehicle components, and basic electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to inspect and maintain Class 1–5 light/medium-duty and Class 7–8 heavy-duty trucks.
• Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Automotive Service Technician 310S or Truck and Coach 310T certification preferred.
