Commercial Construction and Maintenance Technician

TL;DR

Commercial Construction and Maintenance Technician (Carpentry/Construction): Providing mobile repair, maintenance, and renovation services for retail and commercial facilities across southern Ontario with an accent on diagnostics, interior construction, and code-compliant workmanship. Focus on independently responding to service calls, completing complex renovations, assessing additional repair needs, and minimizing client facility downtime.

Location: Remote/mobile work serving client facilities primarily across southern Ontario, the extended GTA, Windsor, Niagara, Ottawa, and Orillia. Regular travel to client sites is required.

Salary: CAD 25–35 per hour.

What you will do

• Respond to commercial facility service calls and independently diagnose structural maintenance and repair issues.
• Complete renovations for washrooms, lunchrooms, retail sales areas, and commercial offices.
• Perform demolition, framing, painting, drywall installation and taping, concrete work, flooring, and millwork repairs.
• Read blueprints, drawings, layouts, and specifications to complete assigned scopes of work.
• Identify additional repair or upgrade requirements and prepare detailed recommendations and quotes for office staff.
• Record completed work, materials, time, and service details in the client management system.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of carpentry or construction experience, preferably in service or maintenance.
• Ability to independently diagnose, maintain, and repair building structures while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record for operating a company service vehicle.
• Ability to obtain and retain security clearances for government facilities.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Working at Heights certification and perform physical work involving lifting and climbing.
