Maintenance Technician IV (Biomanufacturing)

Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada; onsite work in a cGMP manufacturing facility. Weekday afternoon shifts with weekend continental night shifts on an 8/8/12/12 schedule; extended hours, evenings, and weekends may be required.

Salary: CAD 28.50–43.00 per hour

What you will do

• Perform preventive, predictive, corrective, and routine maintenance on pumps, autoclaves, part washers, filling and capping machines, exhaust fans, clean utility systems, HVAC, and other production equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, PLC, control-system, and HMI issues to minimize downtime.
• Prioritize work orders and maintenance activities based on equipment condition, history, production schedules, and business needs.
• Identify recurring failure modes and implement equipment, process, reliability, and safety improvements.
• Inspect third-party repairs and rebuilds and verify compliance with technical and quality requirements.
• Document maintenance, repairs, preventive maintenance, and modifications in accordance with cGMP, SOPs, and safety standards.

Requirements

• Substantial hands-on industrial maintenance experience, preferably in pharmaceutical or food manufacturing.
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical systems including pumps, motors, seals, pneumatics, HVAC, bearings, belts, couplings, and alignment.
• Experience with single- and three-phase electrical systems, VFDs, transformers, relays, overloads, control circuits, electrical schematics, and test equipment.
• Experience with PLC input/output troubleshooting, basic PLC diagnostics, sensors, transmitters, switches, 4–20 mA and 0–10 V signals, control panels, and HMIs.
• Ability to independently prioritize work, determine technical approaches, communicate effectively, and manage shifting operational priorities.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, crouch or squat, lift up to 20 kg, and work in cleanrooms with gowning and respirator requirements as needed.

Nice to have

• 2-year diploma or certificate in electrical, electromechanical, instrumentation, automation, or mechanical engineering technology, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Industrial Millwright 433A or Industrial Electrician 442A license.
• Experience with processing, filling, and packaging equipment, cGMP environments, calibration, LOTO, and electrical safety.
• Ability to work from P&IDs, electrical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
