Roadway Design Engineer (Transportation)

What you will do

• Develop typical sections, alignments, profiles, layouts, and cross-sections for roadway and highway projects.
• Prepare design documentation, plans, reports, and quantity calculations.
• Perform geometric analyses, engineering calculations, and estimates using established criteria and standard software.
• Monitor compliance with applicable codes and engineering practices.
• Collect and process topographic survey and right-of-way data for design analysis.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide design leadership and quality oversight.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• At least four years of transportation engineering experience, specifically in highway or roadway design.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Proficiency with MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer.
• Ability to work in a home office environment and use standard office equipment; occasional travel and physical activities may be required, including lifting up to 35 pounds.

Nice to have

• Experience working in Georgia with GDOT standards.
• Georgia Professional Engineer license.
