TL;DR
Civil Engineer (Civil 3D) (Site Development): Developing civil engineering designs and site documentation for mixed-use, commercial, educational, sports, hospitality, and municipal projects with an accent on grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, and permitting. Focus on coordinating multidisciplinary design work, performing complex civil calculations, and preparing construction and jurisdictional documentation.
Location: Omaha, Nebraska, United States. Four days per week in the office, with flexibility to work elsewhere on Fridays.

What you will do
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients in an integrated design process.
- Design and coordinate site development documents using Autodesk Civil 3D.
- Develop site layouts, grading and drainage plans, storm sewer and stormwater management designs, paving, utilities, and related civil deliverables.
- Perform civil calculations, code research, engineering reports, narratives, and permitting applications.
- Write and review specifications, shop drawings, and construction correspondence.
- Conduct site visits and manage priorities across multiple projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- 0–6 years of civil engineering experience focused on building-related site development.
- Experience in an architecture/engineering or civil engineering design firm.
- Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D and working knowledge of Hydraflow, Storm and Sanitary Sewer Analysis, or InfraWorks.
- Strong understanding of stormwater management, hydrologic design, problem solving, communication, and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to manage multiple project schedules.
Nice to have
- Engineer-in-Training status or a passed Fundamentals of Engineering exam.
- Experience with sustainable site design and low-impact strategies.
- Knowledge of ArcGIS, SketchUp, or other site-plan rendering software.
