2027 Summer Intern - Civil Engineering, Traffic

Location: Bloomington, Minnesota, United States. Primarily on-site at the office or an assigned project site, with occasional flexible or hybrid work arrangements.

Salary: $20–$24 per hour. Final compensation depends on the anticipated graduation date.

hirify.global provides engineering services for transportation infrastructure projects serving departments of transportation, local agencies, and design-build contractors.

What you will do

• Observe and collect traffic data.
• Complete intersection evaluations and corridor studies.
• Conduct traffic analyses using simulation and modeling software.
• Assist with preliminary designs and construction plans for traffic signals.
• Support construction staging, maintenance of traffic, and signing and striping plans.
• Work alongside Professional Engineers and Technicians on transportation infrastructure projects.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with an interest in traffic or transportation engineering.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Availability for 40 hours per week during the summer internship from May 25 through August 13, 2027, with occasional overtime.

Nice to have

• Coursework or project experience related to transportation or traffic.
• Experience or formal training with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
