TL;DR
Senior AWS Engineer (Python/AWS): Building secure, scalable backend cloud services for digital health pathways, from sleep-health screening through diagnosis and treatment, with an accent on serverless architecture, reliability, and privacy. Focus on designing APIs and event-driven integrations, improving observability and production readiness, and mentoring engineers across complex backend delivery.

Location: Hybrid, with 2–3 days per week onsite at the Dublin, Sandyford office, Ireland

What you will do

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain secure, scalable backend applications and cloud services.
  • Own complex features from solution design through production release.
  • Build cloud-native and serverless capabilities supporting assessment, consent management, analytics, integrations, and provider workflows.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, architecture, design, QA, security, and data teams.
  • Improve reliability, observability, performance validation, operational readiness, and release quality.
  • Mentor engineers through code reviews, pair programming, design discussions, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline involving coding.
  • Strong Python skills, including object-oriented design, testing, typing, and maintainable service design.
  • Experience building and operating AWS cloud services, including Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, and CloudFront.
  • Experience with Terraform or CloudFormation, RESTful APIs, authentication and authorization, microservices, event-driven architectures, SQS, and SNS.
  • Experience with NoSQL and relational databases, data modelling, DevOps, CI/CD, Git, Docker, monitoring, and logging.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, investigate incidents, resolve defects, and improve software reliability and security.

Nice to have

  • Experience with CRM or Salesforce-related workflows.
  • Experience contributing to analytics and reporting capabilities.
  • Interest in AI-powered software engineering tools.
  • Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript, React, and/or Next.js.
