Senior / Staff Product Manager – Payments

hirify.global is building an AI-enabled autonomous banking platform for Tier-1 financial institutions through a newly acquired startup environment backed by the scale of hirify.global.

What you will do

• Define the multi-year Payments strategy and rolling roadmap across UK and US requirements.
• Own payment scheme calendars, including Nacha rules, ISO 20022 deadlines, and scheme mandates.
• Lead client working sessions to model payment lifecycles, identify controls and edge cases, and define reusable capabilities.
• Author PRDs and decision documents covering APIs, events, data and state models, error semantics, and acceptance criteria.
• Partner with engineering on idempotency, duplicate handling, retries, ordering, cut-offs, value dates, settlement finality, and recovery.
• Measure outcomes including straight-through processing, success and return rates, latency, availability, reconciliation breaks, onboarding lead time, and adoption.

Requirements

• Deep hands-on expertise in UK payment rails such as Faster Payments, Bacs, CHAPS, or Open Banking, or US rails such as ACH/Nacha, Fedwire, FedNow, RTP, or CHIPS; UK expertise is prioritized.
• Working knowledge of ISO 20022, settlement and finality, cut-offs and value dates, returns and reversals, exceptions, reconciliation, and scheme onboarding and certification.
• Practical exposure to more than one payment type, including instant, batch/ACH, wire, direct debit, or cross-border payments.
• At least 4 years owning a technical product or platform end to end, including a product taken through launch, adoption, and iteration.
• Engineering background or equivalent hands-on experience, typically including 3+ years building, shipping, and operating production software.
• Fluency in APIs, event-driven and distributed systems, data and state modeling, reliability, security, observability, and technical architecture.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of payment rails in both the UK and US markets.
• Experience with AI-assisted workflows for discovery, prototyping, documentation, and decision-making.
