Senior Software Engineer (C++ / Video Processing)

Location: London, United Kingdom; frequent commuting required with 3 days per week onsite

Salary: £76,800–£115,200 per year, plus eligibility for the hirify.global Incentive Plan.

What you will do

• Develop high-performance, low-latency software for video capture, processing, AI inference, visualization, and streaming.
• Design, implement, and optimize real-time video processing pipelines for embedded systems deployed in operating rooms.
• Use hardware acceleration and parallel processing to support edge computing and connectivity.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to build robust, safe-by-design medical device software.
• Maintain code quality and reliability and participate in code reviews.

Requirements

• Excellent C++ development and debugging skills with C++17–23.
• Strong knowledge of multithreading, inter-process communication, performance optimization, software design principles, and C++ design patterns.
• Professional experience with real-time video pipelines.
• Ability to write clear, maintainable, and well-documented code and drive development from concept to production.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Ability to commute frequently to the London-based office and work onsite 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with NVIDIA NPP, Intel MKL, and BLAS libraries.
• Experience implementing real-time image-processing algorithms with hardware acceleration.
• Experience with medical-grade quality processes.
• Knowledge of H.264, H.265, and VP9 video compression and coding standards.
• Good knowledge of Linux.
