Senior Engineer, Control Systems Engineering (Industrial Automation)

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership for industrial automation systems supporting global manufacturing operations.
• Lead capital projects from justification through commissioning, qualification, validation, and acceptance testing.
• Implement connected manufacturing solutions, including IIoT, edge computing, historians, MES, AI/ML applications, and vision systems.
• Specify, evaluate, deploy, debug, and optimize automation hardware, PLC logic, HMI/SCADA interfaces, instrumentation, and control networks.
• Integrate production data and workflows across Controls, MES, ERP, and Business Systems teams to enable real-time decision-making.
• Lead root cause analysis, corrective actions, production support, and resolution of complex automation and system failures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering.
• At least 5 years of industrial automation and controls engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Expert-level proficiency in PLC programming, HMI/SCADA systems, variable frequency drives, and motion control.
• Experience with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, DeviceNet, and Ethernet/IP.
• Knowledge of power distribution, electrical schematics, cabinet design, industrial instrumentation, safety systems, and hazardous environments.
• Ability to travel 20% domestically and internationally for site evaluations and commissioning.

Nice to have

• Experience with Rockwell Studio 5000, FactoryTalk Linx, PlantPAx, IEC 61131-3, and Ignition SCADA.
• Experience with Python, REST APIs, MQTT, OPC-UA, Critical Manufacturing MES, SQL, ODBC, and transactional data.
• Experience configuring Stratix/Cisco switches and applying ISA88, ISA99, and ISA95 standards.
• Experience with virtualization, Microsoft Defender, application whitelisting, Tenable, and OT remediation plans.
