Senior Failure Analysis & Epoxy Engineer

What you will do

• Lead failure-analysis investigations for manufacturing issues, product failures, and customer RMA cases.
• Determine failure mechanisms and root causes using structured problem-solving and analytical techniques.
• Analyze epoxy, solder, adhesives, coatings, PCB, PCBA, and other electronic assembly materials.
• Operate and interpret FTIR, SEM/EDX, X-ray, TGA, and DSC results.
• Prepare cross-sectional samples through cutting, mounting, polishing, and lapping for microscopic inspection.
• Prepare technical reports, recommend corrective and preventive actions, and collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, R&D, and customer-facing teams through closure.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Materials Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or a related discipline, or a bachelor’s degree with at least five years of relevant hands-on experience.
• At least five years of failure-analysis experience with electronic products, components, PCBAs, or manufacturing processes.
• Strong practical experience with failure-analysis, material-characterization, and cross-sectional sample-preparation techniques.
• Knowledge of electronic assembly materials and PCB/PCBA construction, plus basic electrical fault isolation and electronic circuits.
• Understanding of laboratory quality-management systems in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025.
• Good written and verbal English communication skills and the ability to work with cross-functional global teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with hardware, software, board design, or automated data-acquisition systems.
• Experience with 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Analysis, FMEA, or DOE.
