Senior Materials Engineer (Semiconductor)

What you will do

• Lead thin-film and coating development and design process experiments to achieve required coating and material properties.
• Lead thin-film, coating, and materials characterization activities.
• Control defects in thin films and coatings.
• Collaborate across teams on quality problem resolution, incident management, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Drive systemic supplier resolutions at the process level and lead projects with moderate complexity and risk.

Requirements

• Master’s degree required in materials science, chemistry, physics, or a related field; PhD preferred.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience.
• Expertise in materials science, chemistry, coating processes, and thermal CVD.
• Experience with semiconductor component fabrication and manufacturing, materials and surface analysis, and coating failure analysis.
• Knowledge of thermal and gas-flow modeling and problem-solving methods such as 8D and Six Sigma.
• Must work from the Phoenix, Arizona location.
