Maintenance Technician II - 1st Shift (Manufacturing)

Location: San Antonio, Texas; onsite at a manufacturing facility. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m., with overtime as needed. Relocation assistance and visa sponsorship are not available.

Pay: $29.50–$39.00 per hour

What you will do

• Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on production, material-handling, automated, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
• Diagnose and repair assembly systems, conveyors, fork trucks, robotic equipment, motors, sensors, PLCs, drives, and related production systems.
• Respond to service requests independently while minimizing interruptions to production operations.
• Document work orders, maintenance history, parts inventory, checklists, safety issues, and continuous-improvement activities.
• Train and mentor Level 1 maintenance technicians.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, logistics, quality, environmental health and safety, and other facility departments.

Requirements

• At least three years of experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial or electrical production equipment in a manufacturing or operations environment, or a relevant certification or degree in lieu of experience.
• Intermediate knowledge of hand and power tools, mechanical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, gears, bearings, lubrication, drive components, and equipment alignment.
• Familiarity with photo sensors, PLCs, remote I/O, servo drives, and variable frequency drives.
• Ability to work independently, perform repetitive operations, sit or stand for extended periods, and lift up to 35 pounds.
• Successful completion of background, drug, and medical screening is required.

Nice to have

• Experience mentoring less experienced maintenance technicians.
• Knowledge of AC/DC theory, relays, switches, solenoids, fuses, breakers, 480V three-phase power, electrical safety, lockout/tagout, NEC, multimeters, and motor protection.
• Experience with conveyors, robotic equipment, ASRS, AKL, automated guided vehicles, blueprints, and electrical schematics.
• Experience performing and documenting preventive-maintenance procedures.
