Associate Director, Experience Design (AI)

Location: Fully remote within the USA

Salary: $143,640–$273,000 annually, with different ranges for certain U.S. states and regions.

What you will do

• Lead the overall experience design vision for complex client projects.
• Develop design strategies aligned with customer business goals and broader technology and innovation strategies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and senior client leaders to deliver high-impact design solutions.
• Manage and mentor junior designers through coaching and guidance.
• Drive design thinking and design-principle adoption across project delivery.
• Shape organizational strategy for AI adoption in design, including human-in-the-loop frameworks and responsible AI practices.

Requirements

• Deep understanding of human-centered design methods and mindset.
• Experience facilitating workshops, co-creation, user research, storytelling, prototyping, and information design.
• Ability to use AI tools while maintaining quality and ethical standards.
• 10+ years of experience, with deep industry knowledge and experience in enterprise and agency environments preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent portfolio required.
• Ability to work remotely within the USA.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of IT infrastructure or other technical applications.
• Background in human behavior, change management, applied social sciences, data science, or AI/ML.
• Experience in service design, user experience, interface design, information architecture, graphic design, environmental design, or data visualization.
• MDM, MDes, MFA, dMBA, or equivalent education.
