Sr. Staff Product Designer (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid in the San Mateo, CA or Phoenix, AZ metro areas; work from home in other locations throughout the United States.

Salary: $175,000–$220,000 per year, plus bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead design for consumer acquisition experiences across a unified prequalification platform serving debt resolution, personal loans, home loans, and multi-product offerings.
• Design AI-enabled and agentic acquisition flows, partnership experiences, and debt consolidation journeys that improve engagement, trust, and conversion.
• Drive zero-to-one product innovation for Multi-Product, Liability Optimization, and Debt Navigator from ambiguous concepts through MVP launch and iteration.
• Use research, behavioral analytics, hypotheses, and measurable experiments to improve traffic, engagement, membership, and conversion metrics.
• Deliver end-to-end design, including discovery, rapid prototyping, testing, high-fidelity visuals, and production-ready specifications.
• Set the design quality bar, mentor contract designers, collaborate with Product, Engineering, QA, and Data, and evolve the design system.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience designing and shipping impactful consumer web products in agile, cross-functional environments.
• Staff-plus or design-lead experience with a track record in both growth/conversion design and zero-to-one product innovation.
• Strong experience with experimentation, A/B testing, funnel metrics, behavioral analytics, and data-informed design.
• Exceptional rapid prototyping skills, strong UX judgment, and comfort working with ambiguity and multiple concurrent workstreams.
• Experience presenting and defending design direction with senior executives and stakeholders with minimal oversight.
• Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, Interaction Design, Visual Design, Cognitive Science, Psychology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; portfolio required.

• Experience designing AI-powered, agentic, or conversational product experiences.
• Background in financial services or regulated industries.
• Experience with experimentation frameworks, UX research, design systems, or scalable component design.
• Experience influencing cross-functional and executive strategy through design insights.
