Network Operations Manager (AI)

Location: Macquarie Park, NSW, Australia; hybrid schedule with three days in the office and two days remote or from home

What you will do

• Lead and develop Tier 2 and Tier 3 Network Engineers across Federal Government network operations.
• Own the delivery and service assurance of Managed Network Services, including proactive monitoring, incident resolution, operational governance, and customer SLAs.
• Drive intelligence-led, automation-first operations using automation, AI, and observability capabilities.
• Act as the senior technical escalation authority for critical incidents, complex network issues, and major service events.
• Build a secure, compliant, and scalable operations capability aligned with engineering, security, and service requirements.
• Partner with Product, Network, Security, Client Delivery, and vendor teams to improve service performance and customer experience.

Requirements

• Australian citizenship and an NV1 security clearance, or eligibility to obtain and maintain one, are required.
• At least 12 years of technical specialist or engineering experience in large-scale, ITIL-aligned managed services or network operations.
• Extensive experience leading large, multidisciplinary technical teams, including senior engineers and team leaders.
• Deep expertise in network engineering, service assurance, incident management, observability, and operational service delivery.
• Experience delivering transformation through automation, AI-led operations, proactive monitoring, and intelligent event management.
• Experience in Federal Government or highly regulated environments, including security, compliance, and governance requirements.
