What you will do
- Design, build, review, test, and deliver high-quality software as a hands-on individual contributor.
- Lead technical design discussions, architecture decisions, code reviews, and engineering standards within the squad.
- Translate technical direction from the Engineering Manager and Principal Engineer into delivery plans and reliable execution.
- Own the technical health of squad services, including architecture, reliability, observability, product support, on-call readiness, and incident response.
- Mentor engineers through pairing, coaching, feedback, and technical guidance while leading through influence rather than formal people management.
- Use AI-assisted and agentic development to improve delivery speed, reliability, developer experience, automation, and system maintainability.
Requirements
- Expert-level software engineering skills within the relevant technology stack.
- Strong system design, architecture, engineering judgement, and decision-making capabilities.
- Proven ability to design and deliver scalable, maintainable, secure, and reliable systems.
- Experience leading technical discussions, making engineering decisions, conducting code reviews, and mentoring engineers.
- Strong ownership of service reliability, supportability, operational excellence, incident response, and delivery risks.
- Ability to communicate clearly and confidently with Engineering Managers, Principal Engineers, Product Managers, Designers, VP Engineering, and senior stakeholders.
