Director, Applied AI Architects

Location: New York City, hybrid

Salary: $193,000–$304,000 per year; expected OTE of $241,000–$345,000 per year, including bonus or commission.

What you will do

• Lead the Applied AI Architects team across GTM and G&A tracks.
• Hire, onboard, develop, and manage senior autonomous individual contributors.
• Own the engagement portfolio, deciding where Architects embed, what they prioritize, and when engagements rotate or scale.
• Deliver and measure AI initiatives against business outcomes such as sales ramp time, quota capacity, customer-facing time, and competitive win rate.
• Enforce the engagement lifecycle from discovery and prioritization through build, delivery, monitoring, and productization.
• Partner with product, CIO, CTO, and functional leaders to move proven patterns into shared AI infrastructure and define the operating playbook.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional experience spanning GTM-adjacent technical work and hands-on building.
• 3+ years leading senior individual contributors, with evidence of developing and retaining them.
• Hands-on experience building AI-powered tools, agents, automations, or workflows that changed how real work gets done.
• Experience establishing and scaling a new team, practice, or function.
• Executive-level communication, stakeholder management, and priority negotiation skills.
• Experience defining and defending business-impact measurement for a technical team.

Nice to have

• Experience leading forward-deployed engineering or applied AI teams at a model lab, AI-native company, or scaled enterprise SaaS business.
• Experience with Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, custom agent frameworks, MCP-style integrations, Salesforce, Gong, Slack, or Snowflake.
• Experience with engagement- or rotation-based operating models and hiring for emerging role categories.
