Manufacturing Engineer (Electric Motor)

Location: Onsite five days a week in Mossville, Illinois, United States. Less than 10% travel may be required. Domestic relocation assistance is available. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $97,530–$146,290 per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, implement, maintain, and improve manufacturing processes and systems for electric motor assembly.
• Address daily process issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions related to safety, quality, velocity, and cost.
• Develop shop-floor standard work, routings, work instructions, BOMs and MBOMs, ergonomic requirements, tooling, lifting devices, SFMEA, PFMEA, control plans, and flow diagrams.
• Assess and recommend procedures, training, equipment, and manufacturing systems in collaboration with operations, safety, design engineering, and shop-floor users.
• Manage expense and capital requirements for assembly areas, new product introduction, capacity increases, equipment replacement, and continuous improvement.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to the electric motor manufacturing value stream.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, manufacturing, or electrical engineering, or an equivalent technology degree; alternatively, 2+ years of electrical motor manufacturing support experience.
• Knowledge of manufacturing engineering processes, lean manufacturing, manufacturing methods, and structured problem-solving approaches.
• Ability to make informed decisions, analyze situations, and implement safe manufacturing systems and processes.
• Knowledge of robotic process automation and the ability to develop and deploy RPA solutions.
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering prints and bills of materials is valuable.
• Ability to work onsite five days per week in Mossville, Illinois; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with electric motor manufacturing, CQMS certification requirements, NPI, APQP, and PPAP.
• Knowledge of control plans, PFMEA, process flow diagrams, in-process validations, Poka-Yoke design, and tooling controls.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and applications such as VPPA, MESA, Capp+, and PINpoint.
• Strong relationship-building skills with stakeholders at different organizational levels.
