Structural Simulation Engineer

Location: Peterborough, United Kingdom; five days per week on site are mandatory

What you will do

• Build linear and non-linear finite element models for structural simulation on a high-performance computing platform.
• Perform static, dynamic, thermal, and fatigue analysis of complex systems, including engine components, assemblies, and engine-machine integration.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve engineering problems using structural simulation and engineering fundamentals.
• Interpret and communicate simulation results to design and development engineers, internal customers, external customers, and senior stakeholders.
• Develop and improve simulation processes to increase their effectiveness and support future product needs.
• Attend national and occasional international conferences.

Requirements

• Accredited bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering subject, plus academic or industrial experience in structural simulation.
• In-depth understanding of structural simulation fundamentals and finite element analysis.
• Experience with internal combustion engines, rotating machinery, or other machinery, and complex structural systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, presentation, technical communication, and report-writing skills.
• Experience with finite element pre- and post-processors such as NX or HyperMesh.
• Experience with finite element solvers such as Abaqus or Ansys, fatigue analysis tools such as nCode or Fe-safe, and finite element modelling.
