Principal Electrical Engineer (Defence Infrastructure)

What you will do

• Lead the design and delivery of electrical building services for Defence and secure infrastructure projects from concept through construction support.
• Provide technical leadership across LV power distribution, lighting, standby and emergency power, ICT, security, earthing, and renewable energy systems.
• Act as lead electrical discipline engineer on major multidisciplinary projects, ensuring technical quality and compliance with Defence requirements, Australian Standards, and project specifications.
• Manage electrical deliverables, resources, budgets, and programme requirements.
• Prepare and review technical reports, specifications, calculations, design documentation, and engineering assessments.
• Build client and stakeholder relationships while mentoring engineers, designers, and graduates.

Requirements

• Extensive experience delivering electrical building services projects, ideally in the Defence sector or alternatively in government, infrastructure, or complex built environments.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and managing technical delivery on large-scale projects.
• Strong knowledge of electrical building services systems and Defence infrastructure requirements.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and project management skills.
• Baseline Security Clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain it.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, with Chartered Engineer status or the ability to obtain chartership.
