BESS Field Service Technician (Hunter Valley)

Location: Sydney, Australia; field work and travel to project sites required

What you will do

• Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, and field service activities on BESS and associated HV, MV, and LV systems.
• Troubleshoot technical issues using diagnostic and testing tools.
• Conduct HV switching in accordance with safety, regulatory, and operational requirements.
• Maintain maintenance, switching, permit, and technical records.
• Support commissioning through testing, validation, and optimization of new installations.
• Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to maintain safe and efficient operations.

Requirements

• Current A-Class Electrician Licence with relevant HV experience.
• Experience in energy, renewable energy, engineering, or battery storage.
• Strong knowledge of HV switching practices and electrical safety standards.
• Technical troubleshooting and problem-solving capability.
• Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, service manuals, and technical documentation.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to project sites.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting commissioning activities.
• Experience supervising contractors and coordinating permit-to-work processes.
• Experience with monitoring platforms, OEM software, and computer-based systems.
• Familiarity with BESS technologies and renewable energy standards.
