Head of Electrical Engineering (AI Infrastructure)

Location: Australia or Singapore, with regular travel across the company's APAC project portfolio.

Salary: Up to $300,000 per annum.

A rapidly growing APAC technology company developing and operating next-generation AI infrastructure for high-density GPU compute, including large-scale AI facilities, advanced power systems, liquid cooling, energy management, and proprietary AI cloud technology.

What you will do

• Lead and develop a geographically distributed team of site-based electrical engineers.
• Own electrical engineering execution across MV/LV distribution, UPS, standby generation, protection, power quality, earthing, and bonding.
• Provide technical governance from tender and detailed design through construction, commissioning, and handover.
• Manage design reviews, deviations, change control, FAT/SAT, commissioning readiness, and safe energisation.
• Coordinate with construction, commissioning, operations, mechanical/thermal, controls, and networking teams, as well as consultants, contractors, EPC partners, utilities, regulators, and equipment vendors.
• Apply consistent engineering standards across countries and feed site and commissioning learnings into reference designs and standards.

Requirements

• 12 years of electrical engineering experience, ideally in hyperscale data centres, mission-critical infrastructure, industrial power systems, or other high-availability environments.
• Strong expertise in MV/LV distribution, UPS, generators, switching, protection and relay coordination, arc-flash, earthing, and bonding.
• Experience with power system modelling, including load flow, short-circuit, motor starting, and transient stability.
• Experience with tender design reviews, contractor and consultant management, FAT, SAT, and multi-level commissioning.
• Experience leading electrical engineering teams across multiple sites or countries and managing technical assurance, change control, and construction delivery.
• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, ideally with a power systems focus.

Nice to have

• Experience working across APAC markets, particularly Australia or Indonesia.
• Experience contributing to Basis of Design documents, engineering standards, templates, or reference architectures.
