Corporate Controller (Fintech/SaaS)

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, New York, Seattle, or Toronto

hirify.global is evolving from a labor marketplace into a workforce platform with SaaS workforce management and fintech products for worker earnings and credit.

What you will do

• Own full-cycle accounting, including the general ledger, payroll, procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, and reporting.
• Lead month-end and year-end close, maintain data integrity across ERP and operational systems, and manage high-volume W2 and 1099 payroll accounting.
• Develop technical accounting policies for marketplace and SaaS revenue, including ASC 606 principal-versus-agent analysis.
• Build treasury and fintech accounting workflows for hirify.global Wallet and W2 Early Pay, including liquidity management, card reconciliation, and credit-loss accounting.
• Lead the ERP migration, implement AI-driven automation, and improve billing, collections, and DSO.
• Manage audits, investor and lender reporting, tax compliance, the internal accounting team, and the offshore BPO team.

Requirements

• Active CPA license required.
• 4–6 years of Big 4 audit experience with public-company or high-growth technology clients.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years as a Controller or Assistant Controller at a venture-backed technology company.
• Deep expertise in ASC 606, multi-element arrangements, and gross-versus-net revenue treatment.
• Experience migrating from QuickBooks to NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or an equivalent ERP.
• Experience with multi-state payroll tax compliance and nexus analysis for a distributed workforce.

Nice to have

• Experience in marketplace, fintech, lending, ledgering, prepaid cards, or SaaS business models.
• Accounting and reconciliation experience with Stripe, Marqeta, or similar payment processors.
• Experience managing hybrid onshore/offshore accounting teams or BPO relationships.
• Exposure to SQL, BigQuery, Looker, or Metabase for financial analysis.
