Network Engineer III (Access)

Location: Anchorage, Alaska, United States; remote eligible with restrictions

What you will do

• Design, plan, implement, and support complex high-availability telecommunications networks.
• Apply engineering principles covering availability, efficiency, redundancy, scalability, security, and reliability.
• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot outages, and manage escalations through resolution.
• Define KPIs, maintain operational documentation and network diagrams, and develop procedures, training, and automation.
• Coordinate with architecture, project management, engineering, customers, vendors, and other technical groups.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians and provide technical direction on complex projects.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and a bachelor's degree in computer technologies, electrical engineering, or a related field.
• At least six years of progressive engineering experience in information technology, telecommunications, network design and implementation, or complex project management.
• Advanced understanding of high availability, redundancy, reliability, testing, security, scalability, and telecommunications standards.
• Experience with access and transport technologies and protocols including DOCSIS, HFC, PON, Ethernet, MPLS, OSPF, BGP, IS-IS, TCP/UDP, and QoS.
• Ability to make independent engineering decisions, manage complex projects, communicate technical concepts, and mentor technical staff.
• Availability for on-call, after-hours, weekend, holiday, and emergency support as required.

Nice to have

• Telecommunications industry experience.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, JNCIS, JNCIA, PCNSA, PCNSE, Nokia NRS, SCTE, or Arris DOCSIS.
