Network Engineer (12 AM - 9 AM)

Location: United States; remote work from home. The regular shift is 12 AM–9 AM ET, Monday through Friday. hirify.global currently has a presence in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Utah; candidates outside these states may be evaluated.

Salary: $130,000–$160,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, implement, and support the low-latency exchange network environment.
• Configure enterprise and production network devices using Ansible and Python.
• Monitor network alerts and error logs, respond to incidents, remediate issues, and perform root-cause analysis.
• Perform customer connection turn-ups and resolve tickets involving IP prefixes and connectivity.
• Analyze and validate new products and coordinate secure end-user solutions with Security and business teams.
• Work with data center and circuit providers to improve infrastructure performance and cost efficiency.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with low-latency, highly available distributed systems and supporting network architectures.
• Knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols, including IGMP, MLAG, ARP, BGP, NAT, and PIM.
• Knowledge of IP multicast routing, including PIM-SM and PIM-Bidir, and timing protocols such as NTP and PTP.
• Experience with network operating systems including EOS, IOS, and PanOS.
• Understanding of optical fiber types and transceivers, firewall design and configuration, and packet analysis with Wireshark or tcpdump.
• Familiarity with Mac and Linux; scripting experience with Python and Ansible is preferred.
