Senior Online Developer (Node.js)

Location: On-site at the Oxford or Warwick studio, United Kingdom. Relocation support is available, including moving assistance and temporary accommodation. Applicants must have the permanent right to work in the UK without employer sponsorship.

hirify.global is an independent video game developer and publisher with studios spanning video games, film, board games, books, comics, and graphic novels.

What you will do

• Design, build, deploy, and maintain internal tools and public-facing web APIs for the in-house game engine team.
• Develop performant and distributed back-end applications.
• Integrate third-party APIs and services.
• Support application deployments and improve existing tools.
• Communicate with other teams to investigate and resolve bugs and issues.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and system design through testing and maintenance.

Requirements

• Strong experience with Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Experience with databases such as MySQL and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with AWS or equivalent cloud environments.
• Experience with software development tools and version control systems; Git is required, with Perforce desirable.
• Knowledge of front-end frameworks such as Vue and React.
• Permanent right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship is required.

Nice to have

• Experience maintaining applications written in other languages, such as PHP.
• Experience writing serverless functions with AWS Lambda or Azure Functions.
