Backend Engineer (Node.js/TypeScript)

What you will do

• Engineer technical solutions and share them through design sessions and code reviews.
• Shape a scalable and performant architecture for the sportsbook platform.
• Discuss feasibility, ROI, and technical trade-offs with product stakeholders.
• Own the full development lifecycle: build, test, ship, and monitor services.
• Participate in onboarding, mentoring, and personal development activities.

Requirements

• Strong practical knowledge of Node.js, TypeScript, microservice architectures, and serverless systems.
• Experience with relational database design using MySQL or PostgreSQL, plus Redis and caching.
• Experience with AWS Cloud, GitHub, integration testing, and fault-tolerant system design.
• Understanding of data structures, functional programming, and system architecture.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, proactive ownership, and a strong focus on code quality.
• Ability to create clear technical diagrams and documentation.

Nice to have

• Experience with monitoring tools such as Datadog.
• Experience improving the speed and scale of high-throughput systems handling thousands of requests per second.
• Passion for sports or experience in the gambling industry.
