Sr. Manager GenAI/AI R&D Software Development (AI)

Location: Greater Seattle Area, United States. The role requires willingness to travel up to 10% and applicants must be U.S. citizens or nationals, current U.S. permanent residents, or lawfully admitted refugees or asylees.

Base pay for Washington applicants: $197,004–$275,805.60 annually. Other site ranges may differ.

What you will do

• Lead the Enterprise Manufacturing Execution Systems AI software engineering team.
• Build Physical AI products that accelerate aerospace hardware requirements, design, simulation, analysis, build, and operations.
• Hire, staff, manage, mentor, and develop software engineering and research science teams.
• Partner with customers, emerging technology leaders, and product managers to define and execute the Physical AI roadmap.
• Collaborate with Anthropic, AWS, OpenAI, and other AI service providers to integrate secure AI capabilities.
• Own production performance, reliability, cost, and quality for MES AI systems.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Physics, Statistics, or another STEM discipline.
• 10+ years of software and systems engineering experience, including 3+ years leading development teams.
• 2+ years building products using Large Language Models and 5+ years building products incorporating Machine Learning models.
• Experience with agentic harnesses, MCP, agent memory and state management, retrieval-augmented generation, and knowledge graphs.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and development methodologies.
• Must meet U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, or lawful refugee/asylee admission requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with regulated industries, simulations, digital twins, or synthetic data generation.
• Aerospace or defense industry experience and familiarity with aerospace compliance requirements.
