Principal Software Engineer (AI)

Location: North Carolina, USA

Salary: $165,400–$290,800 base compensation annually, with potential commission or performance-based bonus opportunities.

What you will do

• Design and develop Agentic AI solutions using the hirify.global Cloud platform, including integrations that extend AI capabilities.
• Build scalable, high-performance backend applications with Go and responsive front-end components with JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Deploy and operate containerized applications with Kubernetes on AWS.
• Integrate hirify.global Cloud APIs into customer experience workflows and optimize cloud-native application performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and UX designers to define technical requirements and deliver solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues, participate in code reviews, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software development experience, including 2+ years working with AI solutions.
• Hands-on Agentic AI development experience with RAG, RAG pipelines, and the MCP framework.
• Strong Go backend development skills and experience with JavaScript and TypeScript for front-end or full-stack applications.
• Experience with Kubernetes, microservices architecture, RESTful API design, and cloud-native AWS deployments.
• Experience with system prompt engineering, tool-use configuration and tuning, and production troubleshooting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with hirify.global Cloud APIs or comparable customer experience platforms.
• UX design knowledge or experience developing intuitive user interfaces.
• Experience with AWS CloudFormation, Step Functions, DynamoDB, Docker, CI/CD, or Terraform.
• Open-source contributions, a strong GitHub portfolio, or experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
