Software Engineer 1 (Java)

Location: Annapolis Junction, Maryland, United States. U.S. citizenship and a current Top Secret/SCI clearance with a favorable polygraph are required.

Annual salary: $130,000–$270,000, depending on years of experience.

What you will do

• Assist with daily software engineering responsibilities.
• Develop and support software using Java.
• Gather requirements and maintain technical documentation and workflows.
• Use Confluence, Jira, or similar collaboration and tracking tools.
• Apply problem-solving skills to deliver effective product results.

Requirements

• Seven years of software engineering experience on programs or contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or four additional years of comparable software engineering experience in lieu of the degree.
• Experience with Java.
• Knowledge of Confluence, Jira, or similar tools.
• Experience with requirements gathering, documentation, and workflow processes.
• Current Top Secret/SCI U.S. government security clearance, favorable polygraph, and U.S. citizenship are mandatory.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, Maven, Git, GitLab, MapReduce, JUnit, code coverage, Python, streaming, or Linux.
• Exposure to AI.
