Engineering Technician I - 3rd Shift

Location: Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA; onsite, 3rd shift

What you will do

• Set up products and test equipment according to approved procedures and required sequences.
• Perform mechanical, electrical, environmental, and electromechanical testing on prototypes, existing products, and competitor products.
• Use mechanical, electrical, and electronic measurement instruments and accurately record test data.
• Assist with assembling and fabricating test equipment and prototype products from blueprints and bills of materials.
• Support manufacturing through troubleshooting and maintain test documentation in database systems.
• Prepare test reports and support laboratory audits and 5S workplace organization.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of electrical techniques and theories.
• Demonstrated testing competency in accordance with ISO 17025 and the Laboratory Scope of Operations.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Ability to work non-standard or extended hours and maintain a basic personal tool set.
• Ability to stand, walk, use hands to manipulate objects, and occasionally lift 25–50 pounds.

Nice to have

• One year of experience participating in project or cross-functional teams.
• Experience using specialized equipment such as engine dynamometers.
• Familiarity with multimeters, power analyzers, and similar electrical measurement equipment.
• Welding, general fabrication, and combustion engine knowledge.
